If you feel like camping but not necessarily roughing it, Zion River Resort offers some stellar amenities.

We love the “Camper Kitchen,” a community area covered by a gazebo that has everything you need to have a great afternoon barbecue. This first-come, first-serve section is complete with charcoal grills, tables, power outlets, and sinks so you don’t waste your precious resources.

One of the most helpful spots in the resort is their convenience store and gift shop. Even the most experienced campers forget things from time to time, and we are not an exception! Located with the park’s guest services area, you’ll find everything from food, drinks, medicine, and toiletries to clothing, handmade gifts, and a business center inside.

For a little down time, the resort also has an indoor game room. Some of its features include a pool table, spaces for tabletop games, satellite TV, a microwave, and a sink. There’s even free coffee available in the morning! Additional gathering space can be found in the resort’s Social Hall, which also offers activities and entertainment throughout the year.

Additional on-site amenities include private restrooms with complimentary showers, a laundromat, a playground with a climbing wall, a mining area, and propane service. At certain times during the year, you can also enjoy the swimming pool, spa for adults, a full menu of takeout meals from their grill, and shuttle service to Zion National Park.

If you know us, you know we love our pets — and Zion River Resort does too! If your furry friend is one of your travel companions, don’t stress – each visitor is welcomed to bring two pets along with them (three if you have smaller dogs). Just remember to have common courtesy by keeping them on-leash, attended, and to pick up after them. There’s even an off-leash dog area and designated “Poop Park” on location to make things easier for you. An extra tip: If you want to do some adventuring without your four-legged friends, there’s a doggy daycare service called The Doggy Dude Ranch right up the street.

Other Camping Options

If you’re an aspiring RV owner or want to bring your extended family along with you, don’t fret! Whether your family is into traditional camping or a bit of glamping, there are great spaces for them at Zion River Resort.

Four and six-person tent sites are offered alongside the Virgin River and each has a fire ring and picnic table for convenience. Most even have electrical outlets so you don’t have to wear out the batteries on any of your portable electronics or appliances. Like the RV spots, tent spaces can be reserved by either the day or week, with rates starting at just over $40 per day.

If you prefer indoor camping, you will also find both small cabins (for up to four people) and large cabins (for up to six people). Each cabin has cable, heat, and air conditioning plus free Wi-Fi. The smaller, single-room cabins offer a queen bed, a bunk bed, and a side table with two chairs. The larger, two-room cabins have a queen bed in one room and two sets of bunk beds in the other. Each cabin also has a fire ring, picnic table, and porch. Rates start at around $95 per day, with both day and week-long options available.

If you feel like really taking it to the next level, you will want to check out the resort’s luxurious two-bedroom suite. This private getaway has 1.5 baths, skylights, and a wrap-around porch with 360-degree views of the beautiful mountain scenery from comfortable lounge furniture. The full kitchen comes with everything you need, including an oven and stove, dishwasher, microwave, and table for four. There’s a living room with a leather couch and satellite TV, and you have access to free high-speed internet.

Guests also get their own washer and dryer, so they do not have to use the already-handy communal laundromat. The master bedroom has a queen bed and full bath, plus a walk-in closet. In the second bedroom, you’ll find a queen-sized bed and half bath. Linens and towels are also provided. The suite can be rented by the day or week, starting at around $260 per day. That’s more affordable than most hotel rooms!

Year-Round Activities

As if the nature and on-site facilities weren’t enough, there are also organized activities for everyone from children to seniors. These include courses on recognizing animal tracks, archaeological digs, bingo, trivia, campfires with smores, movie nights, arts and crafts, gardening workshops, and even karaoke. For adults, you will also find occasional wine and cheese events plus beer tastings. They even have the Easter Bunny visit during the spring and host a communal Thanksgiving feast during the fall. The best part? Almost all of these activities are free.
